Cheerleading (Varsity & Junior Varsity)
Overview: An organized sports activity, also part of the auxiliary unit of the Marching Band, involving short routines that combine dance, gymnastics, and stunt elements to cheer on teams.

Requirements: Cheerleading is for students who have done gymnastics, can tumble, have prior experience cheering, or exemplifies a positive vivacious attitude with eagerness to learn how to do the above mentioned. Students must be able to express their school spirit by cheering, chanting, and maintaining a positive attitude. Students must tryout in order to participate and should enroll in choir and modern dance as an elective course to enhance their ability to perform. Since cheerleading is not a required activity, students who choose to participate must commit to attend all rehearsals and performances on time. As a member of the Cheerleading Squad each student is required to maintain an overall GPA of 75% and above, attend all classes, respect themselves and others, as well as attend all rehearsals and events. Students receive community service for each performance.

Color Guard
Overview: Color Guard is one of the key sections of the Marching Band and is an integral part of the Football Season in our field show
that adds that special visual effect with the use of colored flags and other special props (including unique twirling of rifles and sabers).

Students receive community service for each performance. Their performances are conducted in a number of indoor venues such as basketball games and concerts.

Overview: Students will be taught dance technique while learning a plethora of choreography to perform for various events within the community.

Dance Squad is for students who have been dancing for many years or just have a passion for dance. Students must have a positive attitude with eagerness to learn. Students must audition in order to participate and should enroll in choir and modern dance as an elective course to enhance their ability to perform. Since dance is not a required activity, students who choose to participate must commit to attend all rehearsals and performances on time. As a member of the Cheerleading Squad each student is required to maintain an overall GPA of 75% and above, attend all classes, respect themselves and others, as well as attend all rehearsals and events. Majorettes
Overview: A majorette is a baton twirler whose twirling performance is often accompanied by dance, movement, or gymnastics; they are primarily associated with the auxiliary unit of the Marching Band during parades and do perform for community events as a separate unit.

Requirements: Majorettes is for students who have prior experience or have a passion for twirling. Majorettes can also spin knives, flags, light-up batons, and rifles. Majorettes are a part of the Marching Band. Students must tryout in order to participate and should enroll in choir and modern dance as an elective course to enhance their ability to perform. Majorettes is not a required activity, students who choose to participate must commit to attending all rehearsals and performances on time. As a majorette each student is required to maintain an overall GPA of 75% and above, attend all classes, respect themselves and others, as well as attend all rehearsals and events. Students receive community service for each performance.
